Le Fortin, own house in Provence, France

The house is built in a south facing slope at 760 m altitude overlooking the 1912 m high Montventoux mountain. Situated in the “Baronnies” nature park the 42 m long solar house is integrated in the surrounding landscape. The north wall is built into the ground whereas the south wall opens up to the sun and view with large sliding glass doors. A swimming pool is situated in front of the house creating a contrast to the dry mountain landscape. The roof is covered with vegetation. The interiors are simple and minimalist. The whole house is created as a frame exposing the spectacular view.
