“LABORATORY / MEDEA / MOTHER OF WARS” by Rolf Alme, Norwegian Theatre Academy, 1999

A multi media performance manipulated in real time by internet users from all over the world. The text is composed by fragments from Evripides’ “Medea” and Heiner Müller’s “Medeamatherial”. A complex computer system links the performance to a website about the civil war in Lebanon. By logging into this website you immediately provoke a movement on the animated soldier’s face projected on the rear wall. These movements give specific cues to the soldiers on stage.
