Ødipus Rex

In the tragedy OEDIPUS REX we discuss if truth is the best, in every situation. Sometimes when truth is horrible it is perhaps best not to know… the truth.

King Oedipus has killed his own father and married his own mother without knowing it. His desperate seeking for the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth leads to catastrophe not only for him but also for his wife/mother. They could have lived happily together if they didn’t know the truth, so why not choose happiness and ignorance instead of a truth which consequences are horror and death?

By rewriting a new text based on the original tragedy we manage in our slightly anarchistic way to make a very comical tragedy advocating ignorance and lies as excellent strategies for a happy life.
